Blue and White Bottle with Christian Motifs

In Iran and the Arab world in the 14th and 15th centuries, Chinese porcelains were rare. This blue and white bottle decorated with Christian motifs symbolically depicts the death of Christ and his resurrection. In the 16th century, Portuguese traders began exporting porcelain directly from China to Europe.
