The Death of A Sailor

A drawing made of a sailor dying of mal de Luanda, or scurvy. Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C, a fact not known to early sailors. As the sickness worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding.
